API Keys

Install the capture client

  1. Create an API key above, or click Show key to reuse an existing one.
  2. Click Download Client and run ScreenAgentSetup.exe on the PC you want to capture.
  3. In the setup window enter the Server URL and your API key, then click Install & Start.
  4. The agent installs itself and runs automatically every time the user signs in — capturing every monitor at full resolution.
  5. Installed agents update themselves automatically when you publish a newer build.
Download Client (Windows)

Run the installer as the normal user (not "Run as administrator").

The client is unsigned, so antivirus/SmartScreen may flag it and managed PCs may block startup. On machines you manage:

  • Allowlist ScreenAgent.exe by path or hash in your antivirus/EDR (push it centrally for a fleet).
  • Microsoft Defender (run as admin): Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "%LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenAgent\ScreenAgent.exe"
  • If auto-start is blocked, the installer automatically falls back to a Startup-folder shortcut.
  • Permanent fix: code-sign the client — a free self-signed certificate trusted via Group Policy/Intune, or a paid certificate. See client/README.md in the project.
